From the moment we were dropped off by our taxi, we were greeted by numerous smiling faces. None quite as bright and smiling as Andres, the young man who checked us into our room. He was professional, courteous, extremely knowledgeable about the hotel and surrounding areas and also gave us wonderful tips for water sports, etc. We asked for an upgrade (not really thinking we'd get it) but he did upgrade us from a city view to a diamond head. (which has a little bit of ocean view and city view) It was a wonderful room.
I had brought a Petoskey Stone from home to give to someone who really made our day. (A Petoskey Stone can only be found in our area of northern Michigan.) The day after we checked in, Andres was the recipient of the stone. Not only did he give a smile and wave every time we saw him, he seemed incapable of a frown.
