I love Singapore!
Took the gondolas to Sentosa Island http://www.sentosa.com.sg/en/. Shopping is incredible. Had a Singapore sling at Raffles, though that has been rennovated and everything now cost quadruple what it was. Had my first real Mongolian Hot Pot there. Some friends took us to their local, neighborhood place. Went to the zoo, little India, Chinatown. Love the Chili Crabs. Even drove out to KuKup, Malaysia to try them, as that is suppose to be their specialty. Johor Bharu, Malaysia is only 45 minutes away by car, and is well worth the drive. I especially like the Pasar Malam or night markets.
I did work out there for a few weeks but didn't have enough time to do the sites. I am looking forward to our leisure visit. I did tried the Singapore Sling in Raffles ... not to my taste ... it think Raffles is a bit of hype. I did go to the zoo and very briefly went through little India and China Town. I thought Divine's wine bar was very amusing with the 'angels'. I also found the evening food market at Lau Pa Sat ... but would avoid it at other times of day. I plan to visit Sentosa on this trip and want to try and get to the night zoo ... supposed to be very special.
