Arubaman says Bon Bini
Glad you enjoyed the experience at Marriott......and am very happy that Yemanja and Papiamento were good! They have always been the same for me. Have never been disappointed eating at either....always a good experience! Looks like you had a nice table next to the pool!
I'll have to 'ponder' your 'before and after' looks to see which one I like better.........
Did you spend nights at the Ren downtown?....or just visit?
The picture you took 'down the block from the Aruba Renaissance Marriott'.......taken from Iguana Joe's?
We didn't stay any nights at the Renaissance. We walked all through the two properties and around the lagoon. We came back into the lobby where it was chaotic, as a couple of flight crews were checking in and the front desk didn't seem to be properly staffed for the numbers. I turned to my wife and said, "well it's easy to see how they mishandled tef's telephone communications". The lobby besides being hot, was certainly at that moment we visited, not the tranquil atmosphere of the lovely island.
Yep, that's right. Second floor at Iguana Joes, a nice spot for people watching. Prior to our delicious dinner at Yemanja, we had some nachos along with a mojito, and a Balashi beer (in a bottle about the size of the original six ounce Coke bottle). Speaking of beer, I'm off to Milwaukee with my Chicago daughter. I'll get you a good shot of either the Shotz brewery or The Fonz.
All the beers on the Caribbean Islands are in a little bottle that seems like a teaser size with the exception of Amstel. For some reason we get the 12 ouncers when ordering one of them. Go figure.
The 'lobby' of the Ren has always been like that (understaffed and hot in the open air). The bar just opposite the check-in area is their 'lobby bar' that serves the 4 ounce plastic cups.
If Laverne and Shirley are still working at the Shotz Brewery, I'm going to give up drinking !
From your posting It seems that if we are staying at the Marriott Aruba Stellaris that we can still use the other 2 Marriott pools. Am I right? This is so important to my grandson who is very excited to use the water slide at the Marriott resort next door. I called customer service but the rep could not answer as she had no idea if the pools were accessible for all three resort guests. I am a Marriott rewards member.
Thanks so much for responding
We were able to use the pools (and fitness rooms) without any problem. Your grandson would no doubt enjoy the waterslide, waterfall, and Lazy River at the Marriott Aruba Surf Club. Since it is a key decision maker, I would recommend that you contact them just to make sure nothing has changed since the spring. The Aruba Surf Club email is firstname.lastname@example.org and the phone number is 011-297-58-69000 which is also the number Marriott lists for the Stellaris Resort and Ocean Club, so it tells me it's a regional office type number (which is good, because they would know the interrelationships between the properties). I called, but they must only keep Weekday office hours. Good luck, hope you and your grandson have as great as time as we did.
