We are off to Prague in May.  Any good ideas on places to stay, places to play golf, and good places to eat.  Any ideas would be appreciated.  Cheers

I enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Renaissance hotel in Prague but just noticed they are no longer listed in Marriott's search. The Marriott was right across the street & seemed equally nice.  Within easy walking distance to Old Town & other areas.  The Marriott had car & drivers available out front which were very reasonable for an informal tour or a trip to the post office.  One driver even helped me buy a beautiful watercolor from a local artist. (You can request an English speaking driver.) If you need to mail anything home & don't want to send it DHL, the post office is open very late--but bring cash and make sure you tape it up completely as mine arrived intact but looked like it took the slow boat while being sat on by an elephant:). Pre-arrange the price of your cab & try to use one recommended by the hotel when feasible.

We've been in the Chech republic to play golf a few years ago. We've enjoyed playing in Karlsbad (Karlovivary) and Marienbad (Marianske Laszne) The two golfcourse are outstanding. But new courses exist since two/three years just outside Prague. Both are littel towns with lots of restaurants and lots of things to see. They both are known for their curing water. We have stayed in Hotel Pupp in Karlsbad, great place to stay. In fact we're going again this summer for a long weekend. Off course Prague is worth to visit, do take the walk across the Karlsbridge all the way up the hill to the castle, from there you will have a splendid view over Prague.
