I have a very old friend who is a baseball fanatic. His one lifelong bucket list is to visit every baseball stadium in America. The problem with this goal is you technically have to go back to a state when a new stadium is built. Such was the case when the New York Mets built a new stadium. So of course, my friend who now lived in California had to come visit. I am ashamed to say that having lived in New York for 10 years, I had yet to see either the Yankees or Mets play but since my friend was visiting, I had to accompany him. So in 2009 when it opened, we took the subway to Citifield and I saw my first baseball game in NYC while my friend continued to count New York as one of the 36 states where he had been to the baseball stadium.
