The year was 1972 and I was in sixth grade at Bunderson Elementary in Brigham City, Utah. It was a beautiful Fall season and yes it was time for the World Series. This was in the days before night baseball and so all the games were played during the daylight. This meant that real baseball enthusiasts had to watch the games during work or even better for sixth graders during school. Especially when your sixth grade teacher loved baseball and wanted to watch the games as badly as we did. It seemed like we were in heaven when he would roll that old TV into the classroom and we knew we were in for a few hours of exciting World Series baseball without the disruption of school work! Oh the memories.
