My favorite baseball memory happened when I was 7 years old. I had found a stack of generic baseball cards with all of the Hall of Famers (at the time), and I didn't know who any of them were. Upon asking my mother, she pointed to my grandfather and said, "You should ask him."
So I did. He sat me on his lap, and the man who loved baseball and lived most of his life in New York, having seen nearly every hall of famer play from the 1910's through the 1970's at AL and NL ballparks, went through each card and told me what the player was known for and a story about each one.
And that ignited the spark for my love of baseball.
