Boston has many diehard Red Sox fans and my husband is one of them. It is a rare opening day that he misses at Fenway Park (we usually are traveling if he does have to miss the annual opening day). During the drought years (decades) for the Red Sox, he was not just a loyal fan but a committed one as well and attended many games when the park had far more empty seats than attendees . And, to have finally seen the home town team triumph in the World Series, was nothing short of a dream come true. Sadly, he is married to a baseball non fan.
