Great Spring Break Family Road Trip.  Flew into Phoenix; rented a car and drove up to Flagstaff for a 2 night stay the Fairfield Marriott (was our base).  Stopped at Cosanti Studio on the way up..off the beaten path but good to strech the legs.  The next day got an early start and drove up to the Grand Canyon (approx. 90 min.ride). Take the locals route and enter thru the eastern side.  What a beautiful ride!  There are a couple of turn off points were you can stop for pics and see what the locals are selling.  Plus it is not so crowded on that side in the morning.  You can spend the whole day stopping at each view point, have lunch/shop and take the bus to the western edge (you can't drive, only buses will take you;but it's free and the sights are wonderful)  On the way back to Hotel take the southern Route, stop at the IMAX. We had  dinner at Pizza Picasso in Flagstaff very good.  Stay away from the Mexican Place, very dirty.  Next day we drove down to Sedona another beautiful ride.    Stopped at Jerome City along the way and also a few other sites.  Sedona is just goreous.  We stay at the Best Western overnight (sorry no Marriott in sedona - shame on you); had a nice room with a wonderful view of the Red Rock it's also right in town, so you can walk to everything.  We ate at an Italian Resturant call Cafe Cuccina which was off route 171.  Very nice - you can sit outside if you like but make a reservation. Next moring we took the "Broken Arrow" Pink Jeep Tour which was awesome. Afer lunch we drove a couple of hours down to Scottsdale.  Stayed the remainder of the trip at the JW Marriott in Scottsdale (burned some points) nice hotel, rooms are spacious yet bathrooms need updating. Great Spa, nice Pool with good service, great golf, good place to relax.  Went on a Hot Air Balloon Ride over the Sonoran Desert which was fun.  Took a night vision tour in the dessert which was cool but a bit of a ride and over priced.  My favorite resturant in Scottsdale is The Roaring Fork, simply delicious with wonderful service.    Just writing about it all make me wish we were going again this year.   Have to say it was truly a fun family vacation - we all loved it!  Never a dull moment.
