Vacations by Marriott a Rip Off

Who has used Vacations by Marriott?  If you have, please share your story.  I have found them to be a total rip off.  1)  Nowhere on the site does it say they are a third party vendor unless you read T&C.  They don't state at ALL that you do NOT earn elite nights or points for the stay, eventhough they adsvertise "Earn Marriott Reward Points" on the homepage.  They just give you 5,000 points, 4-6 weeks after the trip is over.  2)  The flights are lowest fare possible and more expensive than booking direct with the repsective airline.  Avoid this site and be sure to book on your own directly.  Not worth it.

(For each location tag, you will be guided through a 3-step process to add (1) a city and a state or a city and a country, (2) a Marriott brand, and (3) a Marriott hotel.)

It is a not worth it if your vacation is going to earn you more than 5000 or 10000 points. Because that is all you get. You also do not accrue any qualifying night credit towards Marriott status..

Q: Will I receive Marriott Rewards® points for purchasing a package?

A: Marriott Rewards® members will receive a total of 5,000 Marriott Rewards® points for booking a vacation package on Vacations by Marriott.  Due to the discounted nature of its packages, Vacations by Marriott is unable to provide additional Marriott Rewards® points beyond the 5,000 points you will receive for your vacation package booking, or to provide qualifying nights used toward Marriott Rewards® Silver, Gold or Platinum status.  However, members can receive points for incidental purchases made during their stay.
