This is my first time being on the message board and I hope I'm asking this question at the right place. My husband and I are going to Paris for our wedding anniversary this May and we are staying at the Marriott Champs-Elysees. I've heard that some rooms/areas of the hotel are extremely noisy and impossible to sleep in due to the clubs located next door. Can someone who has been there let me know which area of the room to request so we can have a good night sleep??? I think I had heard that the "courtyard" area is nice and peaceful? Is this true?
I have never stayed in a room facing the street (Champs-Elysees), so cannot speak to that. I have stayed in a room looking down on the inner (outdoor) terrace that was very quiet. I have also stayed in a room that looked upon the hotels inner Atrium, which is lovely and quiet. As it gets closer to your special trip, you might consider emailing the hotel concierge, and indicating to them the nature of your visit (anniversary) and your concerns for a room that is both special/memorable as well as quiet. I'm sure that although it is during their busy season, they would be happy to accomodate you as best they can. It is a truly GREAT hotel.
Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary. Let us know if you have any further questions or concerns, and don't forget to tell us all about your trip when you get back, Starridust!

Call the hot line and either ask them for the email address, or have them arrange a "Three way call" and they will connect you directly to the hotel.
Just remember the time difference.
I think you will find the hotel most accomodating.
Let us all know if you have specific questions!
You could also e-mail Marriott Rewards customer service and ask for the GM and/or concierge's e-mail address. I've done this before and have been successful in getting the information I need.
Marriott C-E courtyard, looking down on dining are and patio, very quiet.
This is another picture of the patio as seen from my room. This was pretty much a basic double room.
This a standard patio double room. It is very quiet, note the nice "Platinum" welcome gift on the table. This is a very special hotel, especially for people who have not been to Paris before. Unforgettable!
I had the room right above the flags on The C-E and you will get some sound for sure on the street, but it did not bother me. It was a premium room and is an upgrade!
This is a view of the C-E, from the room looking toward the AdT!
Please let us know if you have more questions!
Every time I get a few pictures posted I get interrupted (Isn't work a four letter word).
May will be a wonderful time of the year to visit Paris. Just make sure you have days planed around the weather. If you need any dining or information we can help you on MRI, and remember they have a wonderful staff and Concierge at The C-E.
Fabrice was a wonderful Bellman, and the rest of the staff was very professional and friendly!
The Marriott C-E has a wonderful "Sidewalk Cafe"! The entrance is small and can be missed, just remember, it is next to Sephora!
Just joining in on this conversation! I have a question regarding rooms...I just booked two rooms at the CE (with points) for mid July. One room is a king size bed, and the other needs to be two doubles. While booking online, I wasnt able to see an option for two doubles with points, but if I was paying with cash, you are able to do it. Do you think this is some kind of upgrade option?
I really don't think that the doubles are an upgrade option. Typically, King rooms, are an upgrade option.
Why not contact "The hot line", at Marriott and see if they can assure you of your room selection.
July will be a wonderful time at The C-E, and expect a lot of people in Paris.
Try to go back thru some of the archived posts and you will get some good tips on The C-E and Paris.
If you need any specific help, let us know and you will get help from other MRI.
NO! (Unless something has changed in the past year!)
There is not many greater feelings than staying at a wonderful hotel, for a period of time, and the staff saying "Thanks for staying", without having a huge bill!
You are in for a special stay, and feel lucky you can use points at this hotel. You can thank yourself because you booked the property EARLY!

I just wanted to let you guys know that we're now back from our trip and all of you are right, the Marriott CE ended up being such an awesome location and the staff is incredible. Thank you so much for your advise of which room to request and emailing the concierge before our arrival for the request. Everything worked out perfectly and they made us feel so special and on our anniversary day.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! This community is awesome!!!! I KNOW that the trip went so smoothly and it's because of you guys. I just wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
Well first we were thrilled to pick the Marriott on CE instead of Vendome. We were trying to pick between the two and after being on the discussion board here and reading people's pros and cons, I felt like the CE was a better choice.
Marriott CE was phenomenal. We LOVE the location and the staff was great. Sabie from Front Desk was wonderful and friendly. The food on property (at Le Restaurant) was DELICIOUS and the drinks at the bar in the lobby were excellent. All the food, drinks from the restaurant, bar and room service was 30% off because we were Marriott members and breakfast was free. They surprised us by leaving us champagne and chocolate in the room on the day of our anniversary.
We're still trying to go through pictures, but once we're done, I'll post them.
