Any transactions which occured on or before 12/31/12 should count towards your status renewal. I stayed at a property on New Years Eve for the one night and my transaction was posted to my account this morning (1/3). If your transactions do not post in the next day or two I recommend calling Marriott Rewards. From your profile I see that your a platnium member so you should call the platinum line at 1-800-321-7396.
If you could explain your situation just a bit more..... Are you saying that you stayed on a free night certificate and spent money at the property. If that's the case, did your cash spend show up as points on the your account? AND are you now waiting to see if the free cert night will show up as a Elite Qualifying Night?
Thanks to all who replied! We had gotten MR points applied as expected for Marriott spend in late December and non-Marriott spend then as well, but had not gotten bonus points awarded for that spend as expected and that was my concern when I posted originally.
Nevertheless (good news!), we did make it to Platinum status again for 2013, not sure if that was due to grandfathering or additional nights awarded at year end for Marriott premium Visa credit card users, but we are happy regardless !!!
