Just got back to our hotel room at the Westin Times Square after having a magnificent New Years Eve 2013 highlighted by being on the NBC stage and witnessing the dropping of the ball. I have a lot of pictures that I will be sharing when I return to Florida. This included free food and alcohol that was provided on the fourth floor of the Marriott Marquis hotel. Our all access pass allowed us to go back and forth to times square fairly easily. Also we got to mingle with the band Train and other celebreties in the NBC "green room" . What a great experience!!!
We did Times Square at the Marriott Marquis a few years ago. No VIP access. It was fun-but cold and crowded. Something to do once. But really glad we did it. Staying at the Marriott allowed us to come and go. Others were stuck in Times Square for HOURS or had no view of the ball dropping.
I did not look at answers in advance, but I know it is Train's lead singer. I think his name is Mark??? Something??? LOL!
What an adventurous time you must have had!
Saw him on "behind the scenes music" a few weeks ago. How cool!
Ya know, I sent one of my ex-wives up th the Marquis a few years back, but have never actually been there myself yet. I certainly feel like I am missing something anytime of the year. I should have at least one stay there!!!
Good for you. What fun!!!!!
Looks like an AMAZING evening! What time did you have to get there for such great access?
All these photos would be great in a new photo album.
I won an auction with United Airlines giving us all access to New Years Eve with Carson Daly provided by NBC. This allowed us to go in and out of the Marriott Marquis where the production team had several conference rooms on the 4th floor. They provided us food and drinks (including alchohol) and we were in a room with their celebrities (Train and Cassadee Pope - winner of the Voice 2012). So overall a very good experience considering there were over 1 million people there and we were escorted in and out of the NBC viewing area to and from the Marriott Marquis Hotel. My wife and I actually went to Times Square around 5pm and easily moved between the Marriott Marquis and the NBC viewing area the whole evening. The access provided by NBC was remarkable!!!
