Residence Inn Popcorn

Greetings from the Residence Inn in Woburn, Massachusetts, where they've substituted a bag of Smartfood popcorn for the iconic Residence Inn microwave popcorn.  I'm guessing it's (much) healthier, more environmentally friendly (saves electricity), and much easier to clean up, but, gee, it's not nearly as much fun....

Is this a one-off or a trend?

Update:  A perfectly fine Residence Inn in Woburn:

      • highly functional room, and the extra space and good work surfaces are a plus;
      • classic Residence Inn breakfast included - oatmeal, the world's best waffle machine, breads, yogurt, and fresh fruit - it's tough to complain;
      • very generous "manager's reception" in the evening - salad, chili, nachos, and cookies (ARGH - fresh cookies, right out of the oven - HELP!!!!); and
      • nice, polite staff.

    This would be a guess...but perhaps the move to pre-bagged popcorn is to eliminate the possiblity of false fire alarms.  I work for a control center at the University of Virginia and we have many fire alarms to Residence Halls because of burnt microwave popcorn.
