The Residence Inn in Springdale, Arkansas is a Category 3 hotel. How could I not like a hotel that had a Razorback flag in the foyer, Go Hogs Go banners over the front desk, and Razorback figurines in the lobby!!!! We had a pleasant 2-night stay at this hotel. Check-in was quick and easy. Our room was a 1-bedroom suite on the 3rd floor. The breakfast room easily accommodated a full house. The selection of foods, typical of Residence Inns, was fresh and plentiful. The hotel is pet-friendly. The indoor pool and whirlpool were popular. This hotel is near major northwest Arkansas companies such as Tyson's and Wal-Mart. There is plenty to see and do in the area. We did not have time to visit the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, but I have heard wonderful things about it. Beaver Lake, with lots of water activities, is nearby. Eureka Springs is not too far away. Branson, Missouri is an easy drive from northwest Arkansas. Springdale is about 10 minutes from Fayetteville, home of the University of Arkansas.
We did have time to eat at the Catfish Hole in Fayetteville. They were packed after the football game; however, the food was delicious and the service was wonderful. They serve you hushpuppies, slaw, pickles, and tomato relish as soon as you are seated. Even with a packed house, our catfish was served piping hot less than 10 minutes after we ordered. We didn't have time to eat at Whole Hog BBQ, but if you've read previous posts, you know how much I like it. We were not hungry for a real meal after we arrived on Thanksgiving night, so we headed to Braum's which is about 3 blocks from the hotel. Our dinner of choice was an ice cream cone! They had many holiday flavors including peppermint which is my favorite. For budget minded ice cream eaters, a double dip cone is only $1.99! They also serve freshly made fast food (burgers, chicken, hot dogs, etc.) They also carry all their ice cream flavors in cartons if you want to take it home. I didn't check the price of the cartons, but I did notice that their gallons of milk were only $2.69. Many guests left with milk and ice cream.
We enjoyed our brief stay and highly recommend this property if your travels take you to this area.
