Wow, what an insightful evening!
NU has so much to share with MI and he is such a wonderful person to share travel conversation with. A true Veteran and interesting person of real interest. Thank goodness we have him to contribute to the MI site.
We will have wonderful future visits and wanted to share our thanks to the many MI that are interesting and special to the Marriott Insider site.
It is so special to think about all of you and it will be a great occasion to get together with other MI!
The potential to one day get with many of you was discussed and hoped for by us.
Gina from the FF in Burlington, Iowa welcomes jerrycoin and you guessed it, (Look at the jacket), NUHusker, the Marriott Insiders for the month of August and September!
A wonderful dinner next to The Mississippi River! We had a toast to Chrisf, and to FF for the 25th Birthday! Wish Chrisf was here as well as all of the MI!
Dennis the owner, treats us so special, and others come to the table to exchange travel stories. This is how high flood waters got in his place!
We had a wonderful time!i
Is this the second or third time that the both of you have gotten together? It's really great that such a friendship has been formed from being a member of MRI!
I hope that the 'gathering' or 'meet and greet' (as we call it here) happens in 2013 and a lot of MRI folk can be a part of it! It would really be neat to share time and stories with so many fellow travelers!
tef -- yes, that's the 2nd time, I've met up with jerrycoin...first back in Jan in PHX with his wife also, and now Burlington, Iowa. It is neat the way friendships devlop. I am really hoping to make it to Chicago early May when chrisf and his wife are there. Hope others can be there also.
Thanks for the post! Yes we have had some great laughs and conversations!
It is such a pleasure to get together in Burlington and enjoy the city! Here are a couple other highlights:
The Catfish Bend Casino is right across the street from the Fairfield.
The statement on the FF sign is backed up by their staff!
The Great Wall, across from the FF, is quite nice and what a bargain. Dinner for two including a glass of wine ($3) was cheaper than one glass of wine at Niagara Falls! Yes, two can dine, with wine for less than $15 total!
Los Charro's is next door for fans of Mexican food!
Burlington is a wonderful, historic town to visit!
What is the latest on Paris for you?
Is Lansing where the Kellogg Center is?
Stayed at a great FF on the West side of town and had a nice meal next door to The Kellogg Center.
Would I love to have a visit to Paris in March. Anytime! We will have to have a "World Tour" event in Paris!
Guys ... thanks for the toast ... I really missed being there! I shall be in FFI Fredericksburg tomorrow evening (hopefully) with my wife and her brother ... we'll do a return toast but I doubt that we'll find such a bargain place to eat! As you know, Jerry, Ann Marie is fairly picky as to where she will eat.
Jerry, you are such a great Ambassador for the MRI team!
HEy Jerry and all, sorry I've been incommunicado, been in San Fran for a meeting all day followed by dinner and beaucoup du vin! Ma pauvre tete! Ok iPad spellcheck not helping at the moment! Lol! Jerry the Kellogg is in East Lansing and where i had my wedding reception and where the team stays every Friday night before a game. Would love to meet anyone traveling to or through Michigan anytime! Jerry my good friend and colleague is Parisian, lived there for 20 years. He's pushing me towards Ren Vendome. I'll let you know. Decisions decisions...
It's nice to see the picture of you and nuhusker together again! I too, really look forward to meeting you and a lot of the other Insider Addicts, present and past, at some of these MI get-togethers. I will have a cold one for you both soon!
I couldn't get a picture uploaded to this reply, so I started an album and uploaded a picture of the Cold One I had for you and the 2 I had for @nuhusker! Here's a link to the album:
We toasted you both as we drank these!
