Bonus Night Credit for Premier CC Use

Hello:  Just wondering why it takes "6-8 weeks" to post a bonus night to my account for having $3,000 of activity on my card.  The points post to my account immediately when my credit card statement closes.  Customer service states that they wait for Chase to submit the spending.  I don't understand why both the points and bonus night cannot post at the same time.  Any answer would be appreciated.  arejbee

Sorry arejbee. I'm not sure why the delay. I haven't tracked my CC spend nights like I track other stuff, so I'm not sure of it's 6-8 weeks or they just say that in case it is delayed.

My credit card statement closes on the 5th of the month and the bonus points usually post two days later and the elite nights bonus credit post on the 12th... The only exception was the first month I had the card where everything was delayed by about two weeks... Hope this helps...

My best guess (though Amex has resolved this problem with Skymilesshopping and returns quite easily) is that you might return a very costly item, so they could be waiting to see if that's the case.

i believe it takes 1 -2 billing cycles for it to register.

So does this mean if there is $3,000 in spending on a December 2012 statement, the bonus night won't be posted until January or February and won't count towards the 50 nights needed during 2012 for Gold?  That doesn't seem fair.

Unfortunately, that's right!  I also cannot understand how the points from the statement get transferred immediately, but the night takes 1 to 2 more billing cycles to get registered.
