We spent a day in Savannah with our 8 year old son & 11 year old daughter. We toured Juliette Gordon Low's birthplace (founder of Girl Scouts) and although the kids enjoyed seeing the old furnishings, they had more fun running around outside in her beautiful backyard garden. A MUST do with your son is taking a horse & carriage tour of the city. You pick one up (or schedule one in advance) in the middle of downtown. It's not very expensive, and if you really want to see the gorgeous architecture and hear some great stories of the city - all while entertaining an 8-year old - it's a fun way to do it.
