Has anyone stayed at the St. Pancreas Renaissance Hotel in London?
I usually stay at Grosvenor or County Hall as I love both properties.
My next trip I need to take the high speed train from St. Pancreas Train station, and since there is a Marriott Hotel there, I thought I might try it.
Looks very nice, and has an interesting hisotry like Grosvenor and County Hall.
Was wondering what the platinum upgrades were like and the service.
The website says they will take your luggage for you to the train station which would be really helpful.
There have been many positive posts on this property, and I have not stayed there, but have been many times to it. Am a lover of County Hall, and think it would be a great place to stay if you are using the EuroStar. I just cannot enjoy the crowds, but that is me. Hope you can go to some of the fine posts on this property. If you cannot get the past posts, I will rewrite, with pictures my Eurostar experiences.
Have a wonderful trip, and don't forget to direct message our MI in GB, they are so good!
Thanx Jerry for the nice pics!
I will actually be using the high speed train out to dover. I check the Eurostar to see if I could use it, e.g. get off at the last stop, but this is not a fare that they sell, at least online.
I figure once I get to the St. Pancras, the concierge will probably help me out with the best choices, probably even get the tickets for me if they are willing to take the bags over for me.
When I was Istanbul, the concierge ran all over town getting tickets for the bus as I was used the buses to travel around Turkey. Much better connections than the planes or trains and just as comfortable.
I have looked into it but not sure since this is my kids first trip to the city. As you may (or may not) know, when I took them to Paris for the first time we stayed at the C-E because I wanted them to have the experience of being in the center of it all. For their first trip to London I want the same thing, and I think Mayfair is a better choice than St Pancras.
Or am I wrong?
If you want it to be like the C-E in Paris, then go with County Hall! You will have great transportation, maybe a room upgrade, walking to Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abby, Churchill Museum, and a great view of the river!
The "Big Red Bus", stops right in front of the hotel, and you will have access to all of London.
This is just my opinion, I hope others will share their thoughts!
