this still remains a mystery to me. every time someone who hasn't received the offer posts one of the mods comes forward to help. So my question is the promo open to all and if not why and if it is not why are they making exceptions. Don't get me wrong I think it should be open to all but those that do not check insiders shouldn't be left out either.
I am a MR Platinum Premier and also did not get a notification about a Spring Bonus. My activity says no active promotions at this time. What's up with that? I get points, not miles. Also, I just received PP this year, but only found it by logging into my Marriott account and noticed the status change. No notification, no contact by Marriott, nothing. Sort of strange.
I would also like to sign up for the current promotions and checked to see if I was on mileage or points in the profile. It was listed as points and it still shows no current promotion for me. Please allow me to sign up for this promotion because I have a lot of upcoming stays that would qualify.
You are not alone. There are multiple threads full of PP / Lifetimes making the same observation and complaint (I am among them). Looks like the mods are reaching out one on one to help some people but that seems like a ridiculous process as I am sure there are plenty of people not on the forums in the exact same boat as we are.
And while I appreciate the mods helping why does it take that level of interaction to resolve this situation? It's the exact same frustration I feel having to *ask* about an upgrade when travelling with my family: if the upgrade is available, just give it to me. In this case: if the promotion is available, just give it it me.
This nickel and dime-ing of the loyalest of the loyal will eventually bite them in the *** as not everyone being taken for granted will complain like you & I just did. There must be those who will respond by simply taking their patronage elsewhere...
As carat correctly replies, "all members are eligible to participate in this promotion". But if you look in the upper right column in the Orange More Like This, notice the four other threads about all of the snafus securing this promotion.
As excellent as Marriott is most of the times at the property level, I am experiencing and reading about more and more headaches in tracking points, nights, and especially 'bonuses'. Yes, all members are eligible, but apparently Marriott has taken an attitude of "how bad do you want it?"
One group you didn't mention are the folks, unlike yourself, that didn't get the offer and don't know about it.
The amount of excellent, labor intensive, time and space consuming work moderators invest in solving these types of issues have practically turned Insiders into a customer service hotline.
Hey guys, new to marriott. How often are the mega bonuses offered? I got 26k off the first with bonus points from work, but I wasn't invited to the second stage of the offer, and have at least 25 days coming up between now and may 15. I was pretty bummed as I wanted to get in on the extra offer. Is this a twice a year thing if I'm not invited? I was under the impression megabonuses were a quarterly event...was one of the big reasons I came here from HH...
And the fun doesn't end even when the Promotion ends. We are now seeing (as predicted) Marriott Rewards members who are just finding out about the promotion getting smacked twice - once, not knowing and twice missing the deadline - ouch.
With all of the exceptional things Marriott does, it is remarkable how they struggle on what would be considered by many customers as "the basics" (making forums like Insiders all the more valuable).
I'm not eligible for the spring promo/continuation whatever and just took my first night in SPG in Madison, WI at the Sheraton. After being a diamond HH member and coming to Marriott this year mostly due to the megabonuses and locations offered, I was a little disappointed that I wasn't "invited" as I probably have 30 days between now and May 15th at the minimum I'll need...
BUT...Let me tell you guys, SPG greeted me, offered me my check in 250 gold reward, upgraded me to the largest suite in the entire hotel on the top floor with my own special elevator and gave me drink coupons. I'm also getting double points my first three stays with SPG and the front desk helped me through linking my Uber account with my SPG rewards. Decent club level lounge too!
You guys might want to check out SPG if you feel a little shafted here...I'm not working towards my platinum by missing out on my elite night credits with MR, though I'll have that in maybe two months anyways with my planned stays, but SPG has been a little bit of a pleasant surprise!
