Lifetime Status

Currently Being Moderated

I have been a Marriott Rewards Member for approximately 20-years. I have bounced between God Elite & Platinum. I own 2-Vacation Club Resorts & use the Signature Visa.

I accumulate a lot of points. My question is this: My Marriott profile & rewards activity states I have 602 nights. Why have I not been awarded the 1.6 Million Points for having

more than the 500 night requirement as a Gold Elite? In another 2-years I will have the 750 nights for 2-Million or an additional 400,000 points for the 750 night requirement.

Has anyone in a situation like this received their points? Is this so new they have not completed the process yet? Any serious comments are welcome.

Sincerely,

Turbodave

this link should have all the information that you need. The points are your accumulated total over the years.

you have stayed over 500 nights therefore if you have accumulated more than 1.6 million points you will have gold elite lifetime status. To find your total points contact customer services, this can't be found in your account on line.

    Turbo,

sg is on the money here.   The qualifiers stand alone. You earn your night credits, you also earn your points..separately. You are not awarded xxx amount of points for hitting thresholds for nights stayed.

      painedplatinum & SG,

1st, I will thank you both for your reply. Good information! I eMailed this question to Marriott Customer Service & coincidentally received a reply

in time to share with you both. This is the Official Position of the Marriott. This answered my question as well. As I am an active Gold Elite with more than enough

points & stays, I will remain in this position until I hit 750-Nights. I have over the 2 Million Required Points but when I achieve Platinum level I will be Platinum for Life.

Check out the Marriott response. She explains it pretty well. Thanks again to you both! Turbo

Thank you for contacting Marriott Rewards regarding Lifetime Elite status.  I see you are a Gold Elite member.  Thank you for your valued loyalty and continued patronage.

We have a Lifetime status that offers Elite levels after certain criteria have been met.

Lifetime Platinum Elite status is offered after the following qualifications are met:

Guest has earned 750 Elite nights over the history of the Marriott Rewards account.

Guest has accrued 2,000,000 total points earned during the history of the account.

For Lifetime Gold Elite, the Elite night requirement is 500 nights and the point requirement is 1,600,000.

For Lifetime Silver Elite, the Elite night requirement is 250 nights and the point requirement is 1,200,000.

There is no way to request this status unless all the qualifications have been met.

To date, your Marriott Rewards account reflects 602 lifetime Elite nights and 2,283,122 total points accumulated.

Please note, once a member achieves Lifetime Elite status, it will not be reflected on their account until they fail to meet the requirements of an equivalent or higher Elite status.   For example, if your account status is Platinum Elite, and you achieve Lifetime Gold Elite status, your account will continue to reflect Platinum Elite until you fail to meet the requirements to renew the Platinum Elite status.

We are always happy to assist you with your Marriott Rewards account.  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

      Thank you for choosing Marriott.

      Sincerely,

BTW, a good discussion and update on the Lifetime Program here:

    turbodave:

You do not get any points when you acheive lifetime status.

You need to have 750 total elite nights and you need to have had a total of 2 million points over the past 20 years you have been a member to get awarded Lifetime status.

      sammyindc,

I get it! Thanks, I was curious how it worked & I now know. The confusing part for me was the word "Lifetime", I am a Lifetime Gold now. I only need to do a 25-night year or hit 750-nights total, whichever come 1st will put me Platinum. BUT only the 750-night total will get me the "Lifetime Platinum" Status as I'm over 2,000,000 points now.

      diego...

Give Marriott a call. They'll let you know. Lifetime points is currently only available that way.
