Modify or cancel reservations

Hello Insiders

 

Ever had to modify or cancel a reservation but didn’t know how to do it online? There are several ways you can access your reservation to make these changes.

 

To MODIFY a reservation:

1.    On Marriott.com, click on Change/Cancel Reservation on the top of the page.

2.    Enter your confirmation number and last name to access the reservation. Or, enter your Marriott Rewards login to access the Upcoming Reservations page.

3.    If you entered your confirmation number and last name, click Make changes to this reservation.

4.    If you log into your Marriott Rewards account on the Change or Cancel Reservation page, you will be taken to the Upcoming Reservations page. Click Modify next to the reservation you would like to change.

5.    Your reservation will appear in the Dates & Rates Information box. Select the action you want to take, such as “Change Room Type” or “Change Dates & Rates”. If you made your original reservation using a special rate or code (e.g. AAA, Senior Discount, Government & Military), you will have to reselect this special rate when changing the dates of your reservation. Make your changes and click Update to complete.

6.    Review your changes before clicking on Submit Changes at the bottom right of the page. If you want to cancel your changes, click CANCEL CHANGES on the bottom left of the page.

7.    If you clicked Submit Changes, a message will verify that you successfully changed your reservation. An email will be sent to the email associated with the reservation.

8.    If you clicked CANCEL CHANGES, a pop-up window will appear for you to verify this action. Click Yes to continue. A final message will appear confirming that your changes have been cancelled.

To CANCEL a reservation:

1.    On Marriott.com, click on Change/Cancel Reservation on the top of the page.

2.    Either enter your confirmation number and last name to access the reservation, or enter your Marriott Rewards login to go to the Upcoming Reservations page.

3.    If you entered your confirmation number and last name, click Cancel entire reservation.

4.    If you signed into your Marriott Rewards account from the Change or Cancel Reservation page, you will be taken to the Upcoming Reservations page. Find the reservation you no longer need and click Cancel.

5.    A pop-up window will appear asking whether you are sure you would like to cancel your reservation. Click Yes.

6.    Your cancellation number will appear and a cancellation email will be sent to the email associated with the reservation.

7.    You can also click on the confirmation number to access the reservation details. Click on Cancel next to the confirmation number.

8.    If you used Rewards to make the reservation that was cancelled, your certificate(s) or points will be posted to your account.

9.    Click Cancel Reservation and E-certificates to confirm the cancellation and receive your cancellation number. An email will be sent to the email associated with the reservation.

And, that is how you can modify or cancel your reservations.
